Am I the only person who finds planning a trip away quite stressful, because of the preemptive bad feelings from the things you know you’ll inevitably miss out on and discover the moment you touch back down at home?
I’ve been to New York a few times, and being such a large, well serviced and incredible city I always feel overwhelmed with the ahead-of-time research I feel I need to do to find the BEST spots to eat and drink at, the COOLEST shops to visit, the TRENDIEST hotel to stay at, the IDEAL location to watch the sunset. The competition to get reservations for places alone is enough to need another holiday from, it’s intense!
This time around, since we were visiting for our wedding, we only really researched the things we needed to do and places we wanted to eat and drink on the wedding day, with one bar and one dinner reservation for then. (The bar was Nubulez and I do recommend this for incredible views, stylish surrounding, expensive but worth it cocktail menu and divinely unexpected lobster roll, but we made a resy for this so it’s not officially on the list)
On this visit we did much more casual eating and drinking which was refreshing. Here’s the best 7 places we ate that we didn’t have or need a reservation for.
